BIOGRAPHIE LONGUE (environ 330 mots)

LONG BIOGRAPHY (about 325 words)

Dr Florence Nanga began her career in health, spending some fifteen years in the pharmaceutical industry, where she acquired the scientific rigour that still guides her practice. In 2017 she joined L’Oréal Côte d’Ivoire as Key Account Manager in the professional products division. Working with more than 200 hair salons in Abidjan, she saw the damage done by certain hair practices.

She trained in the science of hair in Côte d’Ivoire, France, Asia and the United States, and in 2019 became an associate trichologist of the World Trichology Society. That same year she put all her savings into the first Centre Florence Santé du Cheveu, in Abidjan, conceived as “a kind of hospital for hair”: a diagnosis of the hair and scalp, followed by a personalised protocol. At the same time she created Nama-Gny, a natural, plant-based hair-care range.

To date she has supported more than 15,000 women with hair or scalp conditions. Her network now comprises four centres, a shop and thirteen sales representatives across the country.

An oncology socio-aesthetician, she works as a trichologist at the Centre National d’Oncologie Médicale et de Radiothérapie Alassane Ouattara (CNRAO), the national cancer centre in Abidjan, helping patients cope better with hair loss during their treatment. In July 2026 this work received the Second Prize and the Special Innovation Prize at JOCASS 2026, the scientific days of Côte d’Ivoire’s senior health professionals.

The first trichologist recognised by the Ivorian Ministry of Health, she earned the World Trichology Society trichologist certification in July 2026. In 2025 she received an honorary doctorate.

On RTI 2, her campaign “Mes cheveux, ma santé” (My hair, my health) encourages women to see their hair as a matter of health and self-confidence. As a partner of the Miss Côte d’Ivoire Committee, she toured thirteen regions of the country in 2025 to talk about natural hair. BBC Afrique, BBC News, RTI 1 and Elle Côte d’Ivoire are among the media that have interviewed her.
